iOS App Review: Summly

Summly - A summarised version of a website or article

I was reading my daily dose of Google Reader articles last night when I came across an interesting write up from The Verge. It was an application developed by 17-year-old Nick D' Aloisio called Summly. Being a news junkie, I immediately downloaded the application to try it out. It was absolutely lovely and simple. In my opinion too, Summly had inspirations brought from other applications.

Here are my reasons why I just love it (and you should too).

  1. It's very simple and has a minimalist look.
  2. Love the tiles and colour combinations.
  3. Nice way of reading full web articles and their summarised versions.
  4. Availability of the summarised version of the articles when not connected to a network.
  5. Innovative way of sharing on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
  6. Its a universal application available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
  7. Its free.
Let me share some snapshots of the application while using it earlier.
