If the iPhone gets named 5S, will S stand for sensor?

Beta 4 of iOS 7.0 has been released this week and the article from TUAW mentioned that it hints an upcoming feature to the iPhone -- fingerprint sensor. Text based password is getting cracked faster with brute force and its probably just about time to look at alternatives for securing your device. Biometrics in the form of fingerprint could be the practical solution.

The naming convention of the iPhone has been predictable in the past couple of years. iPhones released in the whole number range (i.e. the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 4 and iPhone 5) are major releases from their predecessor. On the other hand, iPhones released with "S" (iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S) seemed to be just minor bumps and have the same form factor as the iPhones that they have replaced. The iPhone 3GS was just an improvement of the iPhone 3G, it has "speedier" 3G signal. The iPhone 4S has the same form factor as the iPhone 4 and the major difference is Siri. Now, if we are going to follow the trend here, there is a possibility that the next release of the iPhone could be named iPhone 5S. The iPhone 5S could have the same form factor as the iPhone 5 and its major feature is the fingerprint sensor

Did you notice all the S's that I've highlighted? Let's see what Apple has in store for us this coming fall.
