I have always wanted to create a GIF. GIF, which stands for Graphic Interchange Format, allows storing of multiple images in one file and creating simple animations (Source: Wikipedia). I have been looking for a dedicated Mac app that produces GIF. Luckily, I was able to come across one which became on sale on Two Dollar Tuesday.
iGif Creator ($3.99) is a very simple Mac app for creating GIFs. It offers three ways of creating it -- using images, videos or another GIF. I bought the application for $1.99 when it was on sale. I have posted some articles already here on my blog with GIFs created from the application. Here are the steps on how I did it using multiple images.
1. Capture multiple images that you want to animate. Some of my GIF's have 10 frames in it.
2. Now open the application and add the images that you have captured. There's no way you can arrange the images in the application so you need to determine the sequence already before uploading.
3. You can preview the animation using the Play button. Adjust the frame rate accordingly as well as the height and width of the file. Based from what I did for my iPhone, vertical orientations have dimensions of 1000 x 1000. Horizontal orientations on the other hand is 800 x 1000. This looked perfectly nice on my articles.
4. Now export the file to any convenient location on your Mac.
5. In case your GIF don't look correctly, you can open the file in Preview and just save it again.
