Last March, Mozilla released the fourth iteration of it's browser Firefox -- Firefox 4. I've been a fan of the browser because of its sleek interface. Although it consumes a lot of your CPU, not fast and stable as Google's Chrome or Apple's Safari, I still use Firefox because it allows me to customize the layout of the browser. It's cool add-ons make the browser fun to use. Here are some of the add-ons I use with Firefox 4:
Personas
Of course we do not want a browser that looks very boring and Personas prevents that from happening. "Personas are easy to use themes that let you personalize the look of your Firefox." You get to choose a great number of themes to dress up your browser. Here's what Firefox 4 looks like with Personas. To get your own theme, go to the Personas site via this link.
Google Shortcuts
I have been using Google a lot from their search engine, Gmail, Google Maps and Blogger so having a shortcut to these applications are very handy. Google Shortcuts is another add-on that you can install with Firefox 4. To install this add-on to your firefox, just go to this link.
Apture Highlights
The next three add-ons that I'm going to share came from an article in Macworld. The first one is Apture Highlights. With Apture Highlights, you get to find information by just highlighting a word on a web site or page you are reading. You can stay on the same page without the need of opening a new window or tab to search information on the word. You can get the add-on via this link.
ForecastFox Weather
This add-on provides weather information right on the browser. After installation, you can set your preferred location and it will display the weather information right away on that place like weather forecast, temperature, wind speed, precipitation, sunrise and sunset. To get this add-on just go to this link. It's also available for Google Chrome.
Foxtab
Now this has to be my favorite add-on so far for Firefox 4. If you want to achieve that Safari-like window for Top Sites, then download Foxtab. With Foxtab, you get to choose different arrangements for your Top Sites in Firefox 4. Check out Foxtab in this link.
