NBA JAM

Boomshakalaka!!! This for me is the sickest, slickiest and coolest NBA game I have played ever. I have downloaded the application from the iTunes store yesterday and it's really a great game. Created by EA sports, NBA JAM is a freestyle type of basketball very different from the NBA Live series they have released in the iTunes store. From the usual five-on-five, this game is different since you just play the game 2-on-2, like streetball. When you start the application, you are first taught in the Jam Camp on how to move, shoot, dunk, block and steal. The controls are displayed on the screen like the "circular arrow keys" and special buttons for shooting, dunking, blocking and stealing. It also has a turbo button that can be used in combination with them.

After the tutorial, you get to choose between a Quick Game or the Classic Campaign mode. You can choose among all the 30 NBA teams in the league. There are also challenges and achievements that let you unlock legendary greats like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen and a whole lot more. You can play against the CPU or against a friend with an iOS device via wifi or bluetooth.

The ballgame is freestyle basketball and there are no rules, no fouls and no free throws. There are a lot of crossovers though, smooth layups and high-flying dunks that you'll truly enjoy. This is a Harlem Globetrotter inspired game. Me and my brother are having a great time playing this game on my 2nd generation iPod Touch. The minimum requirement for this game is iOS 3.0. Just like the other commenters on this game, I would love to see Michael Jordan in the lineup of the Bulls. Aside from Pippen, the other unlockable player for them is Dennis Rodman. I'm not sure why Jordan is missing since the other teams like the Lakers have Magic Johnson and the Celtics have Larry Bird. But all-in-all, this is a great game from EA Sports for the iOS device. You can download the game here. I have downloaded the game though in the US iTunes store and you need to have an account to get it. It's a paid application and will cost you $0.99 -- a great bargain for a slick game like this.
