I travel everyday to and from the office and after work most of my hours are spent commuting. There are a lot of interesting sites I see when traveling in a bus: blue sky, fluffy clouds, fast moving vehicles, rice fields, buildings in the metro and of course people. With this, I thought of experimenting and shooting pictures inside a bus. Since I'm riding on a moving vehicle, I've set my camera to Shutter Priority mode. Shutter Priority allows you to manually change the shutter speed while the camera automatically adjusts the Aperture or opening of the lens. I'd like to see how my Canon S95 performs in freezing or blurring motion. Here are some of my shots taken while commuting:
Rice field
Blue sky and fluffy clouds
Another moving bus, shot at low shutter speed
Shot at a traffic stop in Ayala, Makati
Locations, directions
Of course there are a lot of difficulties while shooting inside a moving vehicle. First is the very obvious that your subject is not stationary. You'll be lucky if you get stuck in traffic with an interesting shot at hand. Second would be the glass window blocking your view especially if the window is not that clear. You'll also have reflections on the window. This can probably be fixed with the aid of photo editing tools. Finally, you have to be careful too shooting in public vehicles. You do not want to have your precious camera snatched.
