Fire up your App Store and check out the updates this week. Here are just some of the applications that have interesting updates for this week ending March 15.
a. Clash of Clans (free) - my favourite online strategy game so far because of the nice gameplay and cool characters. Clash of Clans had released a major update this week which include
- a new Dark Barracks with troops -- Minions, Hog Riders and Valkyries
- improved Wall Breaker training techniques
- players now have an option to move multiple wall pieces at one time
- troops can now be deployed near obstacles
- improved game performance and balance
- and many more...
b. Weathercube ($0.99) - this application has been the featured app of the week by Apple a few weeks back. You can check out the article I wrote about it as well as a demo of the application on my iPhone 4S. The update to the application this week include
- ability to listen to your own music while using the application
- use of the native login for Facebook and Twitter on your device for quicker and easier sharing
- improved contrast and readability
- improvements in location services
c. Snapguide (free) - nice application for checking out guides for almost everything like DIY stuffs. The update to the application has introduced photo editing features like rotating and enhancing images. You can now also easily find guides you have liked and filter them by topics.
d. Rappler (free) - online news I currently read here in the Philippines with Maria Ressa as editor-in-chief. The online news site is slowly gaining popularity among readers and has released their mobile application last month. I love their mobile application so far and the latest update has included sections for PHVote, Newscast, TalkThursday, AskMargie and TechRap in the menu.
e. Cobook Contacts (free) - a good replacement for the default Contacts application which also integrates your Twitter and Facebook contacts. The latest update to the application for version 2.0 has introduced Livecards which (1) automatically complete your address book with emails, phone numbers and pictures of your contacts and (2) allow you to share current contact info with friends and colleagues.
f. Battery Doctor (free) - my favorite utility application for monitoring battery health. The application had minor updates to upgrade the acceleration function, bug fix for weather and repair for charging records that are not accurate. You can also check out the review of the application for the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad.
I'll be updating this post for more interesting iOS updates this week, enjoy downloading!
