Here are some interesting application updates for the week. If you haven't downloaded any of them yet, open up the App Store and update your applications now.
a. Skydrive (free) - Skydrive is a cloud based storage developed by Microsoft. The latest update to the application include
- support for iPhone 5 and iPad mini
- ability to download full resolution photos to your iPhone or iPad
- improved support for opening Skydrive files in other iOS apps
- improved support for uploading files to Skydrive from other iOS apps
- updated app icons and visuals
b. Feedly (free) - this application is an RSS aggregator I've downloaded recently. It's a nice application because its compatible to my iPhone 4S, iPad mini and has a plug-in for Safari in my Macbook Pro. Version 1.4 of the application includes the following changes
- new feed search and discovery
- new title only view and more controls over layouts
- enhanced sharing and save for later
- new "must read" section to easily organize the feeds you don't want to miss
- customize favorite sharing tool to G+, Buffer, Twitter, Facebook, email or browser
- customize favorite save for later tool to Pocket
- mark as read card at the end of each sections
- pull to refresh in the home selector
c. Twitter (free) - the latest update to the application...
- helps you discover, install and launch your favorite apps from tweets
- faster launch times and general performance upgrades
- "Retweeted by" in Tweet detail is now tappable
- fix for reply-to-self in conversations
- fix for bug that prevented undoing retweets in some cases
d. 500px (free) - this is one of my favorite photo gallery application with a great collection of photographs. There are a lot to like in the gallery and they just recently became compatible to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Here are the changes to the application after the update
- Flow for iPad which is a stream of amazing photos that your friend's like and favourite
- see a list of all the people that you follow and who follow you
- performance improvements for a much faster experience
e. djay for iPhone ($0.99) - I'm a DJ wannabe and this perfectly fits my experimenting on mixing music. I haven't used the application in a while and I might play with it again with this update. The latest update to the application include these enhancements.
- introduction of Audiobus support which allows you to stream live audio directly to other Audiobus compatible applications.
- "Shuffle" setting is now also applied to Automix Queue
- pause audtio when disconnecting headphones or dock audio
- Gain is no longer reset when "Reset EQ" setting is off
- allow sliding crossfader up after tapping to leave it centered
- improved caching and handling of iOS audio system errors
- improved Vestax Spin 2 mapping: allow tempo fine-adjust using Shift & +/- buttons
- changed ION iDJ Go jog wheels to scratch during playback
- fixed audio distortion when using Key Lock with Bluetooth audio
- fixed lock screen audio controls starting both turntables
- fixed possible crash when editing Automix Queue while Automix is active
f. StockTouch (free) - this is another favorite, StockTouch provides a different way of viewing Stocks which is to touch it. The application is very unique and different to the usual graphs that we see about Stocks. The latest update to the application adds the expanded view mode, a new price/earning ratio maps and a new dividend yield maps. You can also grab the application now while its currently free on the App Store.
