Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2011
At last, the long wait is over. Apple has just announced that it will be having it's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 6 next week. WWDC is an annual event, conducted around the middle of the year, that showcases new devices, software and technology from Apple. Last year's WWDC introduced iOS 4 and the iPhone 4.
This year's WWDC will showcase the latest iOS software from Apple -- iOS 5, the latest OS X installment after Snow Leopard -- Lion and a new storage facility from Apple that might introduce cloud storage for music -- iCloud.
Every Apple fanatic is looking forward to this event. I am personally looking for the release of OS X Lion. Lion has been previewed already last October in Apple's Back to the Mac Event. Lion has evolved into an iOS like operating software featuring a lot of great improvements. iOS 5 surely looks promising and I wish iCloud will also introduce other file storage aside from music similar to that of Amazon or Dropbox. Others speculate that a revamped MobileMe will also be discussed in this event.
Unfortunately, there have been rumors also that the iPhone 5 won't be introduced in this event. iPhone 5 may be a little late this year and speculated to be released around September. But hey, who knows, a preview of the new iPhone maybe placed at the "One More Thing..." closing of Steve Jobs. Jobs has been confirmed already to be present in this event similar to the iPad 2 event last March.
