Wow, I still have a hangover of last night's Incubus Concert at the Araneta. It was an absolute blast right from the get go, worth the ticket price I paid for. I was in patron -- SRO (Standing Room Only). I took this opportunity to watch them live. It's the band's third time to go here in Manila but my first time to watch them live, my first time to watch a foreign act too.
The show started at a little past 8pm with Franco as a front act. Franco did a really great job pumping up the audience. Their music was like that of POD. I noticed two familiar faces in their lineup -- Gabby Alipe of Urbandub and Buwi Meneses of Parokya ni Edgar.

The main event I think started around 9pm. The production team still has to setup some of the stuffs that will be used by Incubus. Everyone in the crowd is very excited. We started to roar as soon as members of the band went up onstage. Incubus started the show with Megalomaniac. We started to sing along with the song and jumped as it went on chorus. It's been a while since I've been to this kind of event. It's a mosh pit in the middle and almost felt like a stampede. Fortunately there's no hot headed audience in the chaotic crowd. It was all for fun and everybody had a great time.
The whole event lasted for more than two hours. Of course I won't let this event pass without shooting with my Canon S95. I was really impressed when I uploaded the actual photos to my Mac. I'll just write a separate post about the settings I used. Here are just some of the shots I have taken.
All in all, it's an absolutely great event. The crowd were all pumped up and the bands were just awesome. I hope more foreign bands will come to our country. Maybe some organizers can sponsor a Foo Fighters or Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. Foo Fighters has just released Wasting Light and Red Hot Chili Peppers has an up and coming album to be released anytime soon.
