Updating my iPhone 4S to iOS 5.1

iOS 5.1 has just been released this week with the announcement of the 3rd generation iPad. I opted to download only today to read some reviews first of the latest software update. The release of iOS 5.0.1 last year introduced some network problems to the iPhone 4S and I don't want to be bugged by it. So far iOS 5.1 did not introduce any of these network problems and there are a lot of positive reviews about the latest iOS. The delta update on your iOS device is around 200 MB and its around 800 MB when you download on iTunes. Here are some snapshots I've taken of my iPhone 4S during the software update.

iOS 5.1 Update

Preparing the software update

One of the slick updates in iOS 5.1. The camera shortcut is now always available together with the slide to unlock. Just hold the camera icon and slide up to use the camera.

Japanese language is now on Siri and the 3G toggle is also available again separate from Cellular Data.

Slight change to Volume Up and Down in Assistive Touch. Noticed some battery improvement too but I'd like to observe this for another week.
As tweeted earlier, my iPhone 4S seems snappier after the download, another flawless software update. Well the battery seems to be a little better too especially on standby but I'll still observe my phone for a week. So far, so good. Hope you have your latest iOS software already.
