Just last month, my uncle posted a blog about shooting Macro with a Canon G12 -- The Canon Powershot G12 and Macro Photography. I thought of testing my own Canon S95 since it's very much the same as the G12. I was very amazed by the results that I got.
Aside from shooting Macro, I also used the Color Accent in the SCN mode of the camera. This mode allows me to select only one color to shoot and puts everything else in black and white. I had a great time experimenting in this mode. I got great photo effects without the use of any photo editing tool.
And also true to Macro shots, you get impressive results when you shoot on the side instead of the usual top shots. Instead of also shooting group of flowers, why not focus on only one flower as the subject. You might want to check out these points on my uncle's blog -- How to Shoot Flowers - Part 1.
Again, this is another reason why I love this camera. This is indeed a great investment. A camera that just fits in your pocket and could take this great pictures right on the spot.
